We didn't hold a luncheon in June, so we are especially happy to announce several exciting summer events that we have in the works for you. First up, we have partnered with our friends at 1181 and French Connection to bring you an evening mingler event and fashion show on Friday, July 5, 2013. Spoiler alert: French Connection models!! Like all of our events, this event will benefit the anti-bullying and teen suicide prevention work of Out in Schools.
Your ticket includes VIP entry to 1181. As this will be a private function, the bar will not be open to the public and only ticket holders will be admitted. The event will feature complimentary vodka drinks and beer, courtesy of our friends at ABSOLUT and Peroni, a complimentary swag bag for each guest from our friends at BIOTHERM (valued at $75), a chance to win a $500 Gift Card from our friends at French Connection, fabulous door prizes including a smartphone from our friends at TELUS, and did we mention the open bar? This event will be hosted by none other than the legendary Joan-E, host and star of 1181's new Sunday night drag show, Joan-Eleveneightyone.
Tickets are $40 each (plus a small ticket processing fee that is charged by our ticket service provider). The event will start at 7:00 and will wrap up at 9:00, after which the open bar will cease and the bar will open to the public. You must be at least 19 years old to attend this event. N.B. Media will be present at this event and, by attending, you consent to being filmed and acknowledge that your image might be published.
We would like to thank our generous sponsors, without whom our events would not be possible. Please take a moment to check them out! And please be sure to stay tuned for more upcoming events!
On behalf of Out in Schools, we would like to thank you for your support. Thank you to everyone who attended any of sixteen sold out events to date! Together, we raised tens of thousands of dollars for Out in Schools, money that directly enables Out in Schools facilitators to reach students all over BC. On top of this, our corporate sponsors and community partners have given many tens of thousands more to Out in Schools at Friends & Company events throughout the year. All of this is undeniable proof that together, we can make a difference for young LGBTQ people in our communities. Thank you.
On a serious note: Friends & Company, Out in Schools, and our sponsors remind you to please drink responsibly and plan a safe ride home. Please don't drink and drive. Thank you.
