We are thrilled to partner with our friends at TD Bank Group for Pride weekend on the evening of Saturday, August 2, 2014 to host the second annual Friends & Company Fireworks Viewing Party, Presented by TD, from the top floor of the TD Tower in beautiful downtown Vancouver!

For the second year in a row, we are offering you an exclusive opportunity to avoid the crowds of English Bay on this, the busiest night in the city, and enjoy a bird's eye view of the 2014 Honda Celebration of Light finale, featuring Team Japan. The event will include complimentary Absolut Vodka drinks served by friendly 1181 bartenders, VIP entry to the TD Tower,  beats by internationally-renowned DJ, DjG Luve,  fabulous door prizes including a smartphone from our friends at TELUS and lots of exciting silent auction items to bid on. And, like all of our events, there will be many opportunities to connect with great people while raising money for the anti-bullying and teen suicide prevention work of Out in Schools.

This event will be emceed by Vancouver's legendary drag queen, Joan-E and, like last year's event, this one will be guest hosted by legendary female illusionist, Larry Edwards (aka Hot Chocolate)Larry has been featured on such shows as Oprah, Entertainment Tonight, Donahue, and The Tonight Show, and he made a stunning cameo appearance in the Academy Award nominated motion picture, Miss Congeniality 2, starring Sandra Bullock. Larry stars nightly as the illusion of Tina Turner and Beyonce in Frank Marino's DIVAS Las Vegas, the longest continuously running show in Las Vegas!

The talent behind Joan-E is Robert Kaiser, a long time and highly respected fixture in Vancouver's LGBTQ philanthropy and entertainment communities. He is a two-time recipient of medals from Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, having been awarded the Queen's Golden Jubilee Medal in 2002 for his work in community service and again in 2012 when he received the Queen's Diamond Jubilee medal.

Tickets are $60 each (plus a small ticket processing fee that is charged by our ticket service provider). Did we mention the open bar? The event will start at 7:30 and will wrap up when the fireworks finish, likely sometime around 11:00. Each guest will also receive a special card valid for a complimentary cocktail at 1181 anytime over the Pride weekend (entry subject to capacity). It will be a great night of celebrating and the Pride Parade is the following morning! You must be at least 19 years old to attend this event.

We would like to thank our generous sponsors, without whom our events would not be possible. Please take a moment to check them out! And please be sure to stay tuned for more upcoming events!

/outinschools.jpgOn behalf of Out in Schoolswe would like to thank you for your support. Thank you to everyone who attended any of our sold out events in the past! Together, we raised tens of thousands of dollars for Out in Schools, money that directly enables Out in Schools facilitators to reach students all over BC. On top of this, our corporate sponsors and community partners have given many tens of thousands more to Out in Schools at Friends & Company events throughout the year. All of this is undeniable proof that together, we can make a difference for young LGBTQ people in our communities. Thank you.

On a serious note: Friends & Company and our sponsors remind you to please drink responsibly and plan a safe ride home. Please don't drink and drive. Thank you.
