We are thrilled to partner with our friends at TD Bank Group on Pride Weekend on the evening of Saturday, July 30 to host a fireworks viewing party from the top floor of the TD Tower in downtown Vancouver! Proceeds of this event will benefit the anti-bullying and safer school initiatives of Out in Schools.
Avoid the crowds of English Bay on this, the busiest night in the city, and join us on the top floor where we will enjoy a bird's eye view of the 2016 Honda Celebration of Light finale, featuring Team USA, represented this year by Disney's world famous pyrotechnic team, which has been dazzling spectators to fireworks since the 1960s. The event will include complimentary vodka drinks served by friendly 1181 bartenders (courtesy of 1181 and XY), VIP entry to the TD Tower, fabulous door prizes including a smartphone from our friends at TELUS, a chance to participate in a 50/50 draw, and lots of exciting silent auction items to bid on. And, like all of our events, there will be many opportunities to connect with great people while raising money for the anti-bullying and teen suicide prevention work of Out in Schools.
The event will be hosted by none other than our very own resident Friends & Company emcee, Vancouver's best-known drag queen, the world class Joan-E. The talent behind Joan-E is Robert Kaiser, a long time and highly respected fixture in Vancouver's LGBTQ corporate, philanthropic and entertainment communities. He is a two-time recipient of medals from Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, having been awarded the Queen's Golden Jubilee Medal in 2002 for his work in community service and again in 2012 when he received the Queen's Diamond Jubilee medal. Robert is also a proud team member of our Presenting Sponsor, TELUS, a role he officially carries out both as Robert and Joan-E.
Tickets are an incredible value at $50 each (plus a small ticket processing fee that is charged by our ticket service provider). This event has sold out quickly in past years, so we encourage you to get your tickets early to avoid disappointment.

We would like to thank our generous sponsors, without whom our events would not be possible. Please take a moment to check them out! And please be sure to stay tuned for more upcoming events!
On behalf of Out in Schools, we would like to thank you for your support. Thank you to everyone who attended any of our sold out events to date! Together, we raised tens of thousands of dollars for Out in Schools, money that directly enables Out in Schools facilitators to reach students all over BC. On top of this, our corporate sponsors and community partners have given many tens of thousands more to Out in Schools at Friends & Company events throughout the year. All of this is undeniable proof that together, we can make a difference for young LGBTQ people in our communities. Thank you.
On a serious note: Friends & Company, Hawksworth Restaurant, Out in Schools, and our sponsors remind you to please drink responsibly and plan a safe ride home. Please don't drink and drive. You must be 19+ to attend this event. Thank you.
